Thank you for visiting my blog. I make Handcrafted cards to order, adding that personal touch in an otherwise impersonal world.

Polly's Christening

It was my niece's Christening today and we were all a bit nervous at the service, due to Polly not particularly liking anyone apart from her Mum and Dad and other children!  The vicar didn't actually hold her after being warned and everything went without a hitch!  Polly looked beautiful in her dress and I even got a cuddle at the after party celebrations - I was definitely privileged!

It was a beautiful day - the sun was shining and all our families and friends were there, a lovely time to celebrate Polly's Christening.

This is the card I made:
Fimo clay figure which matches the figure on the
keepsake box from my lovely friend Sharon - thanks hunni!
Close up of the circle sentiment I made -
thanks to DC er for their tutorial!

Hello Polly!  Is this a cuddle I see before me?  It's a first!

Smile for the camera - or wave!
Thomas and Jessica all dressed up!
The cake - looked and tasted yum!

Roman Homework!

Jess had a project over the holidays to create roman artefacts for a roman museum that they are creating in school.  We mosaiced a box, then made coins, snake bracelet and dagger handle from salt dough.  Thanks to Christine from dc for the mosaic squares!

A card and a party!

My niece, Polly, celebrated her 1st birthday today - for those who remember my brother and sister-in-law losing their first child at birth, Polly is beginning to heal the sadness and heartache.  She loves her cousins and they love her back (as does her Auntie!!)

Mo Manning Image - 'Kai is one' coloured with Promarkers,
silver stardust card, pink and white polka dot card,
silver glitter card with ribbon, Papermania flowers,
Cuddly Buddly sentiment stamp,
Bling '1' and heart button from Pinnacle Crafts in Billericay.

A few piccies from today's party!

Brown bazzill, pink and white spot card, flowers,
and new sentiment stamp!

Close up of stamp....lovely sentiment

And a commissioned card for my neighbour - for a good friend who loves poppies, wending its way to New Zealand as we speak!  Think it must be the furthest a card of mine has gone!

White .....'promarker'ed....ta da......red!

After my pleas on DC about dying canvas with promarkers, this is the result - I'm rather chuffed!  So a big thank you to Sarah Hurley who gave me some fab advice and here they are.....

Mother's Day & Birthday

Well, as 'life' took over, I am ashamed to say I combined my mum's birthday and mother's day cards!  My justification is that they would have looked very similar and her birthday was the day after mother's day!  I used my new letter stamps, and after a bit of 'snipping' so that the letters fitted together better, I think it looked ok!
